What is Traffic Calming?
Traffic calming refers to various measures implemented to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists. These measures can include speed bumps, raised crosswalks, roundabouts, and narrowed roads. Traffic calming:
Enhances road safety by reducing the likelihood and severity of accidents
Promotes a more pleasant and livable environment by decreasing noise and air pollution
Encourages walking and bicycling by making streets safer and more accessible for non-motorized users
